How do Student Loans work?

This area of the website will hopefully answer your queries regarding the different types of Student Loans - from the government's Tuition Fee Loan and Maintenance Loans from the Student Loans Company through the Student Finance system, to the Emergency Loans available for UK students from the University.

Student Loans
How the government's student loans system works for undergraduate students. Consisting of Tuition Fee Loans paid to universities and colleges, and Maintenance Loan paid to students to help them survive financially on a full-time or part-time undergraduate or postgraduate course. This section discusses how the payments are made, the interest charged on the loan payments, and how students are expected to repay the loans they have taken out.

Emergency Loans
Available to UK students from the University of Sunderland's Student Support Funds Office, if there is going to be a delay in your first Student Loan instalment of the academic year which will cause you financial hardship.
