Getting in touch early

If you have applied to the University of Sunderland, or are considering us as an option, why not get in touch to make an appointment with one of our Disability Support Advisers.

If you have questions about what support we are able to provide, what conditions or diagnoses we cover, what medical evidence you might need, or simply want to find out more about our service; we are happy to have an informal chat either face to face or remotely via teams or telephone.

If you declare a disability on your UCAS form we will automatically send you an email with details of how to get in touch with us – remember, when we say disability we are including long term health and mental health conditions, neurodiversity such as Autistic Spectrum Conditions, ADHD and Dyslexia, as well as hearing and/or visual impairments and mobility difficulties.

Making an appointment before you enrol with us is the best way to ensure support is ready for when you start; we can have a Student Support Plan ready to share with academic staff, and also help with applying and setting up funded support, where applicable, such as Disabled Students Allowance (DSA).

To contact us for an appointment just email disability.support@sunderland.ac.uk
