We have various assistive software programs available to support our students either for all students on campus or provided on loan by our team.
Read&Write is a literacy support tool that offers help with everyday tasks like reading text out loud, understanding unfamiliar words, researching assignments and proofing written work. This is available on all university computers with a small number of ‘take home’ licenses managed by our team.
Glean is a web-based recording program which allows you to record classes, add notes, and engage in the moment without missing a thing. Also provided with a smartphone app. Access a transcript from the recording and review the information at a time and pace that suits you. Available on loan through our team.
Booost is a web-based time management and organisation tool. You can sync and view multiple calendars in one place, manage time and plan tasks. Using AI, Booost identifies free time and suggests what to work on based on upcoming deadlines and commitments. Available on loan through our team.
MindView is an assistive mind-mapping software application that has been optimised for neurodiverse individuals and made truly accessible for users with disabilities. Mind mapping allows you to develop your ideas in a non-linear fashion and work visually. This strategy is proven to help better organise information, process large amounts of data and dramatically improve memory recall. Export from map to Word, PowerPoint etc. to combine the planning, research and writing processes. This software is downloaded and installed onto your own computer or can be accessed online from any browser. Available on loan through our team.
Aspire is a 24/7 learning platform consisting of hundreds of guides and resources, providing support across keys areas including Study, Assistive Technology, Mental Health & Wellbeing. The assistive software covers Read&Write, Booost, Glean and MindView. Available on loan through our team while you learn the essentials of the software available to you.
SuperNova is a range of assistive technology for people who are blind or partially sighted.
It includes screen magnification, speech and screen reading software with braille support. SuperNova enables people with visual impairments to explore their computer screen and read on-screen information independently. Available on-site at St Peters campus, please contact the Library for access.
In addition, we have a large variety of other assistive technology and ergonomic equipment either available to loan, or for use on campus. Please contact us for more information.
