How to find us

The assessment centre is located on Level 1 of the Edinburgh Building at the City Campus of the University of Sunderland. The Edinburgh Building is accessed through the Gateway.

By Car

From North or South, follow the A19 towards Sunderland. Leave the A19 and turn onto the A1231 heading for Sunderland. Head East along A1231 and follow signs for City Centre. You should come to a roundabout, after passing Currys PC World and Halfords on your left, please take the 3rd exit onto Railway Row. Take the first left onto Johnson Street and you should see our City Campus in front of you. If you are using a sat nav the postcode for the main car park is SR1 3QN.

We have two car parks on campus. A smaller car park is accessed via Chester Road, Wharncliffe Street. You can use this car park if the main car park is busy. If using a sat nav the postcode for this car park is SR2 7PT.

Both car parks are pay and display at £1.60 per hour however parking can be limited in peak times. Parking charges are reduced for students with registered vehicles, further details are available here. There is a cashless parking terminal at the northern entrance to the Gateway Building, otherwise you can pay for parking using either the JustPark app or web page. There are accessible parking bays close to the entrance to the Gateway building. If you prefer, we able to reserve parking bays in our main car park for your visit with advance notice. Please ask for a reserved bay when booking your assessment.

By Public Transport

If you are travelling via public transport we are a 2 minute walk away from the University Metro Station, 10 minute walk from the Sunderland Interchange and an 11 minute walk from Sunderland Train Station.
