Gateway Services

The Gateway is your one-stop shop for all your enquiries. No matter what your question is, we’ll be able to help resolve your issue or at least advise on what you need to do next. Our expertise is essentially, the University. We deal with any and every enquiry a student may have during their time here at Sunderland from the moment you become a student with us to the day you graduate and can either resolve your enquiry there and then or look into it further if it needs signposting elsewhere.

Student Queries

We are the hub for all student enquiries, whether it's a question about your academics or just a general question about University life, The Gateway will be able to look into, advise or deal with any eventuality, where appropriate.

The Gateway Team will use Compass to manage your query, meaning you will have access to all the information so don't worry if you leave our enquiry desk and forget what we've told you - it'll all be on your tickets!

Documentation Requests

During, or after your studies, you may be required to obtain official documents from the University, these could be for use for a variety of different reasons. Whatever that reason is, we're sure to have a letter or document to fit that purpose.

A variety of our letters are available via our SelfService suite on eVision. For a full breakdown of the documentation we can provide please take a look at our Letters & Forms Support section.

Campus Cards

The Gateway Team act as a distribution point for all Campus Cards. Once we receive your card, we will raise a ticket for you to let you know when and where it is available to collect from. You will be notified of the ticket being raised via your student email account. If you have any problems with your card, whether it's not scanning into class or giving you access to buildings, The Gateway will be able to help look into this and resolve your issue.

Form Submissions

There are a variety of forms at the University that you may need to submit in person. The Gateway act as the central point for the majority of forms here at the University and can often advise on how to complete and any additional support you can receive dependant on your own circumstances, simply just complete your form and drop it into either of our enquiry desks and our team will do the rest.

For a list of Forms we have, please take a look at our Letters & Forms Support section.
