I think I have symptoms related to Covid19, what should I do?

Home / Student Information / Covid19 Guidance / Current Student FAQs / Managing Covid19 / I think I have symptoms

If you think you have symptoms of Covid19 it is important that you follow the NHS advice.

You will need to report your symptoms on our online form at https://go.sunderland.ac.uk/reportcovid

The main symptoms of coronavirus (Covid19) are:

  • A high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • A new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  • A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

To protect others, do not attend campus or go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital if you have any of these symptoms. Get a test to check if you have coronavirus and stay at home until you get your result. If you miss any class, whether it is on campus or online, please report this absence via TDS Student Portal.

If you miss class, whether online or on campus due to having symptoms / self isolating you will then need to report your absence through the TDS Student Portal
