We understand it can be a daunting experience travelling from around the world to get here. For some of you, it will be the first time you visit the UK.
The University provides an Airport Arrival Service for new students arriving at Newcastle International Airport (NCL) to welcome you when you arrive in the UK. Our Arrivals team will help you arrange transport from Newcastle International Airport to your chosen accommodation.
Please note that the Arrival Service is only available on certain dates and times and is only available to new students.
To apply for our Airport Arrival Service you will need to complete our online application form by clicking the apply now button below. Once completed our Airport Arrivals team will review your arrival request and will contact you to confirm your booking onto the service.
Our Airport Arrival Service will be operating between 9.00am - 17.00pm across the following dates:
If you arrive at Newcastle Airport without submitting an application, or you arrive outside the designated dates and times of the Airport Pick-Up Service, you must arrange your own transport to Sunderland.
Newcastle International Airport is located approximately 20 miles (32km) north of Sunderland and there are multiple ways to travel to Sunderland.
Alternatively, for those not able to utilise the Airport Arrival Service you can choose to use the local Tyne & Wear Metro service that runs directly from Newcastle Airport into various locations within Sunderland at a cost of approximately £3.50
