We are here to support you throughout your studies with any immigration or welfare queries you may have. We provide confidential advice and guidance via our weekly drop-in sessions, or online via Compass. We also support your transition to the UK, including support on accommodation, healthcare and adapting to life in Sunderland.
We work with students with mental health conditions; Specific Learning Differences, such as Dyslexia; Autistic and Neurodiverse students and students with long-term health/medical conditions. If you feel that your disability or condition could impact on your studies, come and talk to us. We can also help you to apply for Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA).
Money matters! Our team provides you with confidential guidance on any aspect of your finances. We can help you with your budgeting, as well as information on student loans, grants, and even advise on state benefits and other sources of funding. You may also be eligible to apply to one of our Student Support Funds if you find yourself in financial difficulty.

The Student Administration team enable Student Journey teams to support your study from application to graduation.
We offer support and guidance if you are an Integrated Foundation Year or Undergraduate Student. We can signpost you to the correct teams to offer a more specialised service regarding your situation or issues. We also give advice on applying for Extenuating Circumstances, leave of absence, transfers, appeals and a whole range of other issues. You can access our support through face-to-face appointments, phone calls, Teams calls, Compass enquiries or email.
Get involved - you will be amazed at the choice on offer. We have sports clubs and sports teams who are always looking for talented players and committed supporters to cheer them on their way at fixtures and Varsity competitions. You can use our MUGA at St Peter’s and our Sports Hall at CitySpace to play sport on-campus.
The University Library is available online and on-campus. We offer relevant and current reading resources, bookable study spaces, laptop loans, one to one study skills support and much, much more!
