National League Teams
As well as competing in BUCS leagues Team Sunderland also has teams competing at the highest level of professional and National Leagues in the UK.
Team Sunderland is a growing initiative established in 2011 by the University of Sunderland.
We provide students, alumni and community members a chance to play in National League Volleyball, Basketball and Futsal as well as local league Netball, Basketball and Youth Basketball.

Team Sunderland Volleyball
The National Volleyball League is the top Volleyball Competition in England for Clubs. The League comprises National Super League, National Division 1, National Division 2 and 3 National Division 3 Leagues for both Men and Women.
We currently have a men’s team competing in the National Super League as well as a women’s team competing in the National Division 1 League.
Team Sunderland Futsal
The National Futsal Series is the top Futsal Competition in England for clubs. The League compromises Tier 1, Tier 2 North, Tier 2 South, and a Women’s Super Series.
We currently have a men’s team competing in the Tier 2 North League & women's team competing in the Women's Super Series.
Team Sunderland Basketball
We have both National League Men's and Women's Basketball sides competing in Division 3 and Division 2 respectively.
