Sport at the University of Sunderland goes far beyond simply playing. To support those who are interested in a career in sport, or who simply wish to add additional skills and experience to their degree and CV, we operate one of the largest student employability schemes in the UK called the Sport Career Academy.
Joining the Sport Career Academy is your chance to learn new skills, develop existing ones and access CV defining experiences. We welcome students from all areas of study and provide opportunities to suit varying commitments.
We have placement opportunities with schools, specialist groups and the community in course related and skills-driven environments such as Sports Journalism and Broadcasting, Event Management, Event and Promo Team, PR and Marketing, Sports Coaching, Sports Development, Business Development and Planning, Sports Science and Analysis, Sports Injuries and Rehabilitation.
Joining the Sport Career Academy will not just benefit you, our roles give you the chance to be someone’s coach, leader or role model and make a real difference to the lives of the people you interact with.

UK Coaching have temporarily made their most valuable subscriber resources available to everyone who registers for free on UK Coaching. These will equip coaches with the knowledge and skills to operate confidently and competently so that they can meet the wants, needs and dreams of the people they coach.
