Can I reset my Password myself?

Yes, you can reset your password anytime via our self-service password management platform.

If you're an Applicant you will need to use our Applicant Password Reset Tool which is available when you click the 'Help to Login' button on e:Vision. Once you have answered the applicable questions, you will receive guidance on resetting your password.

If you're a Current Student you will be able to reset your password via our Selfcare password management tool. This will allow you to change your password at any time or reset a password if you have forgotten yours.

  • If you already know your password and just want to change it to something else, click on Change Password. This will open up a Microsoft profile page where you can then navigate to the Change Password option. Here you will be asked for your old password and your new password. 
  • If you have forgotten your password, click on the Reset you can reset it yourself using the personal email address we have for you. Using Selfcare, click on the 'Reset Forgotten Password' and then simply put in your full student email address as userid@student.sunderland.ac.uk. Complete the quick captcha and click next. On the next screen, you will see part of your personal email. This is the email we will send a verification code to. If you're happy with the email, click the button to send the verification code. You will then need to access your personal email for the code. Once you have entered the code you will be asked for a new password. If there's no email showing up, please contact our IT Service Desk.
