My campus card isn't working, what should I do?

Home / Student Information / Welcome Hub / Campus Cards / Campus Card FAQs / My campus card isn't working, what should I do?

Damaged Cards

If your card is damaged and no longer working please call to the Gateway.

We expect you to take reasonable care of your card (please make sure to keep it away from strong magnets and aerosols such as perfume which may damage your card.)  However, if the card is no longer usable through no fault of your own, we can then arrange for a replacement card to be printed and sent to you.

On Campus Buildings
If you experience any problems with your card for accessing buildings on Campus, we recommend that you hold your campus card on the external reader of any building for around 20 seconds. This should "refresh" your card.

If you are still having problems accessing specific buildings, you may need to have your card re-programmed. If this is the case, please visit the Gateway Enquiry Desks located at City and St Peters.

Halls of Residence
If you live in halls and your campus card is not working within the Halls, please visit your hall reception who will be able to support.

Attendance
If your campus card does not work for attendance, we would recommend checking you've tapped into the right room, at the right times. The room you tap into must be the room that is on your timetable and you can tpa into class up to 10 minutes early. If you tap in any earlier or later than the scheduled start time, you will not receive your mark.

If you are still having issues with your attendance, please submit an enquiry on Compass.

Printing
If you are trying to print and your cards not logging into the printer, please visit the Gateway Enquiry Desks located at City and St Peters. Alternatively, you can log in to printers manually by typing your User ID and password onto the screen when prompted.
