Your Officers
Sunderland Students' Union is a student-led organisation run by elected officers who are chosen by you. They work to represent you at various levels of the University and are always keen to hear your thoughts, concerns, and ideas. Your Presidents are:

What we offer you
Fun, support, memories, and plenty of FREEBIES! We have many events, activities and opportunities that you can get involved with. Attend our events, join a society, become a volunteer, and much more!
We can help you to boost your skills, improve your CV, and represent your voice throughout your student experience too. And we’re here to support you with our Advice Service, SU Buddies scheme and in a number of other ways.
Make it Happen
Your SU is here to ensure that you can have your say and that your interests at the University are represented. There are several ways that you can raise your concerns, contribute your ideas, share your feedback and bring about changes that you want to see – contact your Course Rep (or become one yourself!), use our ‘Change It!’ platform or come along to our Union Council meetings.
Get to an Event
We run a range of events and activities right through the year – on campus, in the city, and beyond! Join us for one of our day trips, celebrate a cultural day or come along to a Movie, Games or Quiz Night. There's something for everyone!
And of course, 2024/25 kicks off with all Your Freshers events!
Become a Volunteer
We have a great range of volunteering opportunities available, both within the SU and out in the community. If you’d like to give a little bit back while learning new skills and boosting your CV, why not get involved?
Your Advice
We know that student life is not always easy. That's why our experienced and caring advisors are here to provide free, independent and confidential advice when you find yourself facing challenges and in need of support.
The team mainly offers guidance on academic issues, but they can also chat to you about non-academic matters and signpost to services that may be able to help.
