Get set up

A key part of your induction is to be set up and familiar with your key IT resources. Here we guide you through the key resources you will have access to and will need to set up.

User ID and password

Your User ID is your online key to all our online resources and should not be confused with your student number. You'll receive your User ID and password details once you have completed online enrolment, whether that's for your main course of study or for the pre-arrival module, Flying Start.

Canvas

Canvas is the University’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). It’s where all your course content and information from module and programme leaders will be placed so you can access them 24/7.

You'll also be able to chat with staff via Canvas as well as view course / module calendars to keep up to date with what's happening.

Wi-Fi

Our campus and the wider City of Sunderland comes equipped with great Wi-Fi services.

Once you join us, you will simply need to connect to our Wi-Fi network once, and then that's it, you will stay connected no matter if you switch or move in between campuses.
