Microsoft 365 is Microsoft's cloud-based platform that allows you to stay connected, collaborate and create no matter where you are.
Your student account is powered by Microsoft 365 and will provide you access to a variety of applications such as Microsoft Work, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and much more...
Logging into Microsoft 365 is quick and easy and can be done in many different ways. There are three different options:
Your log-in address will be your university UserID followed by @student.sunderland.ac.uk i.e. ab01abc@student.sunderland.ac.uk (even if you also have an @research.sunderland.ac.uk email address).
If you want to install Microsoft applications on your device, you can log in to microsoft365.com where you will be able to see the "install and more" options where you can download and install a variety of Microsoft 365 apps.
Every student receives a university email address that helps you stay in contact with the University, whether this is your course colleagues or academic and support teams across the University.
Student email is powered by Outlook, so you will have the added flexibility of synchronising across Microsoft 365 products.
We do always remind students to regularly check emails as we will always contact students through the student email account which includes our regular student newsletters letting you know what's happening at the University
OneDrive will allow you to save and store your documents in one single place. If you save your documents within OneDrive, you'll have access to them anywhere you go, whether that's through your phone, tablet or other devices.
It's the best way to store and save documents as it means you don't have to rely on always having your physical device at hand.
Alongside your student email and OneDrive, you will find you have access to a wide variety of applications that can help you during your time at the University. To find out what you have access to, we recommend you log in to microsoft365.com/apps.
You will then be able to see your most popular apps and by clicking on "All apps" you will see everything you have access to.
