Academic timetables

Once your induction timetable finishes, you will need to access your academic timetable through the My Timetable portal.

Your academic timetable shows you everything you need to know about your class schedule, what and when your classes are and who is taking them.

Accessing your academic timetable

Your academic timetable is available through the My Timetable portal. Commonly, this will be made available to you within your induction week, although you may have access to the portal before the timetable is available - this is normal.

For international students, you must complete your international document check before you are provided with an academic timetable.

Your academic timetable is made available to you via the timetable portal at sunderland.ac.uk/timetable.

You will log in using your University User ID and password. Once you have logged in, you will be greeted by handy information provided by our Timetabling team. You will be able to see a variety of tabs with the first being "My timetable" which is your go to for your tailored timetable.

Understanding your academic timetable

Your timetable is your class schedule and is tailored for you. It will tell you all the information on all of your teaching sessions which includes; the module title, module code, building and room number as well as which lecturer is taking the class.

Due to the fact your timetable is tailored for you, please ensure you attend the sessions on your timetable. If you attend a different session for the same module or a different room than specified on your timetable, it will affect your attendance %.

Changes to your academic timetable

Your academic timetable will be curated based don't the modules you are studying and the semesters that these are taught in. To ensure you are informed about any changes to your lectures or classes, it's best to understand how and when the University will communicate to you:

  • Communication Methods. Changes will be communicated through the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), the University of Sunderland App, and emails.
  • Timing of Notices. Notifications of changes will be posted by 10.00 am daily where possible. For changes arising later in the day, notifications will be posted as soon as they are known.
  • Student Responsibilities. It is your responsibility to regularly check these communication channels and ensure your contact details are up to date.
