Emergency Loans

Loans are available to currently registered UK students if there has been a delay in payment of the first instalment of Student Finance funding. They are designed to help with basic day-to-day living costs such as food and travel.

Students can apply for an Emergency Loan of:

• up to £35 (or £45 for London campus students) per week if you are living with parents; or
• £70 (£90 for London campus students) per week if you are living independently from parents

Emergency Loans are given up to a maximum 4-week period, and repayment of the loan must be made on receipt of the first instalment of Maintenance Loan. To find out more, visit our Emergency Loan FAQ's page.
