Wellbeing > Health Promotion
As defined by the World Health Organisation, Health promotion is: “The process of enabling people to increase control over, and to improve, their health. It moves beyond a focus on individual behaviour towards a wide range of social and environmental interventions.”
Putting that simply, health promotion is all about sharing advice, support and information about health so everyone can make informed decisions to look after themselves.
As a university community, the health of our students is of the utmost importance and for this reason the wellbeing team work with partners from across the university and beyond to support all aspects of students general health and wellbeing.
In this section we have collected external support, information, resources and advice around some topics relating to health. You can view all this by navigating through the left sidebar. If you think we should include something else, let us know by getting in touch at wellbeing@sunderland.ac.uk
