Joining a society at Your Students’ Union is a brilliant way to meet like-minded students, make friends and find your community at university, all while having a fantastic time – and maybe even trying something new.

Your Volunteering
We have a great range of volunteering opportunities both within the SU and out in the community. If you want to give a little bit back while learning new skills and boosting your CV, why not get involved?

We run a range of events and activities right through the year – on campus, in the city, and beyond! Join us for one of our day trips, celebrate a cultural day with free food, or come along to a Movie or Games Night!

If you ever face any academic issues, our free and confidential Advice Team are here to help. They can also signpost you to the right University services for wellbeing and other support.
Your SU Buddies
You can sign up for an SU Buddy! They are more experienced students who can help you settle in Sunderland. We’ll pair you up with a Buddy based on your course and interests.
