If you're leaving us and need a reference as part of a job application or even further study, here you will be able to find out who the best person is to provide you or your future employer with this.
A reference can come in many forms. Sometimes an organisation will require a reference request to be completed that is the format of a form put together by the organisation that asks key questions about your time as a student. Other times, organisations may require a personal letter to be written about you.
Either way a reference request must come from your Faculty. You should always contact a Programme Leader, Module Leader or your Personal tutor to obtain a suitable reference. Central services such as Gateway Enquiries or other teams are unable to conduct a reference request on your behalf.
Your Transcript is your official results record. It will show you the list of modules taken and marks achieved throughout each stage of the programme. Therefore if an orgnisation requires proof of your academic progression and grades your Transcript is the best document to provide.
The transcript shows your overall Programme Assessment Board decision regarding progression or your award status along with your module and assessment information and confirmed marks
A student status letter is a letter which will show your academic status with us. This letter can be used for numerous reasons and is our standard letter that is accepted by a whole host of organisations and is widely recognised around the world. If an organisation just want to confirm your student status in terms of what you studied and the dates, then this is what you will need.
The letter will include your name and student number as well as information on your programme of studies including the title, start date and end date.
