Working rights

Every Tier 4 student studying a full-time programme at the University of Sunderland should have a right to work while studying, but the working limits depend on the course a student is currently undertaking.

Guidance

The number of hours you can work is stated on your BRP card or your vignette in your passport. You must not exceed these number of hours during term-time. You can work full-time during vacation period. If you are unsure on when your vacation period is, please contact your faculty. If you require a working letter for your employer, please contact the Gateway Enquiries to obtain a Working Letter.

Tier 4 students studying part-time and Short-term study visa holders are not permitted to work paid or unpaid.
