Laura Hockaday

I am one of the Sport Development Officers for Team Sunderland. My role is to manage and run our BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sports) programme which consists of 30+ clubs, 40+ individual teams & a number of BUCS individual’s events (BUCS Nationals).

Alongside this I also manage & run our non-BUCS competition element which a number of students compete in, in various local leagues as well as local & national competitions. I also manage our performance sport element through our Elite Athlete Scheme which we support 20+ students each year.

In addition to this I also help organise & overlook a number of annual events we run including Clash of the Minster’s, TeesWear Varsity & Sports Ball.

I have been with Team Sunderland since July 2013 after graduating from the University with a degree in Sport & Exercise Science.
