Local League Teams

Team Sunderland offers opportunities for students, alumni and community members to represent the university in local league competitions for Netball and Basketball.

Local League Netball

We currently have two Adult Netball teams playing in the North Durham and Tyne and Wear Leagues where they play on a Wednesday night and train on a Monday night. Our teams currently play in Division 2 and Division 3 of the North Durham County Association League.


Youth Team Sunderland

Our community-focused programmes currently offer opportunities in Netball and Basketball for anyone aged from 7 years and up. These programmes are based at the University of Sunderland’s CitySpace and provide a pathway from beginner to performance level as well as offering a high-quality coaching and playing environment.
