What can my PASS Leader help me with?

Home / Student Information / Your Studies / PASS (Peer Assisted Study Support) / Peer Assisted Study Support FAQ / What can my PASS Leader help me with?

Your PASS Leader is trained to deliver PASS sessions that aim to help you explore the course content that your lecturers have provided, find answers to any questions you have and understand your course more fully. They can also provide general course advice, give advice around study skills and signpost to other relevant support.

It is important to remember that PASS Leaders aren’t teachers and won’t provide answers to questions relating to course content, but are trained to support you in finding the answers to your questions through group discussion, use of resources and research so that you leave your session with the answers you need.

For example, they are available to give you generic information at the beginning of the year around your course, they can recommend good reading material or they can advise as to what they found useful/difficult when completing their first year. They can’t help you write an assignment or answer specific questions around assignments, however they can give general advice around assignments and support with referencing, relevant reading etc,

If you find yourself struggling with an assignment and looking for support, then you can find some guidance here.
