Your campus card is your University identification card – you need it to borrow books from the library, register your attendance, access buildings and facilities, and it is also proof that you are a student and can be used for free travel between Sunderland campus' on our Connect bus and Students' Union minibus services. Your campus card can also be used to receive student discounts in many shops and restaurants in the area.
Once you have completed online enrolment, you will be able to access your What Next? Checklist where you will be able to upload your photograph for your campus card.
You will need to make sure the photograph you upload fits within the guidance of our acceptable photos. If your photo isn't suitable, it may be that your card can not be produced.
If you need to change your photo later on, you can always do this through Selfcare. Please note, changing your photo will not automatically produce a new card.
Once you upload a suitable photograph, a campus card will automatically be produced for you. During these unprecedented times to help mitigate non-essential travel and to ensure we can provide a welcoming and safe campus environment we have suspended on campus collections for campus cards.
Once your campus card has been produced we will automatically send this to the contact address we have for you at the date of printing your card, this is commonly the term time address you confirmed at enrolment. If your contact address differs from your current address you will need to organise a redirect or have the occupants of your contact address forward on your mail so you can receive your campus card. Alternatively you can order a replacement card via our Online Store.
Our post is distributed via standard Royal Mail therefore we are unable to provide tracking IDs or advise on postage times or delays
You will need your campus card in order to be able to 'tap' into your class. Tapping in is how you will receive your attendance mark for that class. Before you join your class you will be asked to tap your card against the attendance readers located around the room.
You will be able to track your attendance via the TDS Portal
You will need your campus card in order to be able to print on any on campus printer. Once you have printed your document from an on campus PC, you can simply access your printing on any printer across both campuses in Sunderland for 24 hours from the moment you press print.
Our Campus Bus, the Connect service is operated by Go North East. Although members of the public can use the service to get around the City, students are able to hop on for free, simply show your campus card when you get on.
The Connect bus service operates between our two campuses, with stops along the way which are close to our Halls of Residences and key areas within the City, such as Park Lane Interchange & Stadium of Light.
