Safety

We want you to have a fantastic experience whilst studying at the University of Sunderland. However, it is important to know what to do should you feel unsafe during your studies.

We want to provide you with some advice and guidance on staying safe whilst you study with us, whether you're on campus or enjoying student life in the city.

Advice and support

There may be certain times where you feel unsafe or there has been an incident. It is important to understand that help is available to you.

Here is a short webinar which talks you through staying safe whilst on and off campus

Remember, if you feel unsafe or there has been an incident please speak to a member of staff. We have an on campus security team and police officer who are here to help.

More information about staying safe can be found here.

How to report an incident

If you have experienced or witnessed an incident such as violence; sexual violence, harassment, hate crime or aggression you can report it through our online 'report it' tool.

Sunderland university have collaborated with it's Student Union to create this short video which will help you to understand what incidents can be reported.

Report it

We want our students to feel safe and should an incident happen we want to know about it so that we can act on it. It will be carefully investigated and victims will be offered support from our student services team.

Our aim is to support you through your studies. If something has happened which concerns you then we hope that you will report it to us.
