Change of Study Mode

You may find that during your studies you either have more or less time on your hands and may want to move from Full Time studies to Part Time, or move Part Time to Full Time.

As long as your programme allows, the Change of Study Mode form will start the process for you.

What is a Change of Study Mode?

During the course of your studies, your circumstances may change and you may have more or less time to study so you may wish or need to change from Full time study to Part time study or from Full time to Part time.

You can request a Change of Study Mode form from Gateway Enquiries.

How do I submit the form?

Like any request to change your studies you will need to discuss your options with your Programme Leader who can guide you through the process and advise whether this is the right change for you to make. Once your form has been completed, please submit this via Compass. If you already have an open enquiry please make sure to add a note with the attached form.

You must be aware that changing mode of study may have financial implications and may extend the length of your course. As a result of this we would suggest that you speak you our Student Financial Guidance Team to discuss what cost implications this change may have.

If you are an international student a change in your study mode may have implications on your visa. As part of the process, once you have submitted your completed form via Compass we'll ensure our International Student Support team see this so they can offer any support and guidance on his this change may effect you.

What happens next?

Once your form has been processed by your Faculty your study mode will be change and your record will be updated. This will include updating your Academic Timetable and any other resources as applicable.
