Re-entering the UK

While your journey back to the UK is likely going to be seamless and without issue, there are some considerations to be made that will go a long way to ensure that it is.

Re-entry to the UK

You can only travel and re-enter the UK if your leave to enter & remain permission is still valid. If your VISA has expired or is no longer valid, do not attempt to travel to the UK as your entry will be refused, if you make it that far.

If you have any questions about your VISA or immigration status, please reach out to our International Student Support team (ISS). You can find more information about the work they do HERE. The best way to get in touch with them would be by raising a ticket on Compass.

The UK border agents have the right to pull travellers aside to ask questions about their reasons for travel, or to review documentation. This will not happen to all travellers, however it is better to be prepared.

Essential and helpful documents to carry with you would include:

  • Your valid passport
  • Your valid BRP card, or a device to access your UKVI account.
  • A "confirmation of studies" letter to confirm your student status
  • A document to show your accommodation address, such as the contract
