Programme Leader

Every programme at the University has a Programme Leader. Programme Leaders are ultimately responsible for the management and assessment of the programme from start to finish.

Programme Leaders are academics themselves who are responsible for the learning and teaching alongside the assessment methodology of the programme. Programme Leaders also actively teach modules on the programme as well as act as a conduit between students and internal/external bodies.

Finding your Module Leader

Compass
Compass is not only your enquiry portal but also shows helpful information on your programme including who your Programme Leader is. Once logged into www.sunderland.ac.uk/compass simply navigate to My Profile at the top of the page and then to the sub-tab of 'Programme'.

Here you will see all the information relating to your programme, to the top of this section you will see the Programme Leader email, which is made up in the following format, firstname.lastname@sunderland.ac.uk

Canvas
Within Canvas you will have access to spaces that include your programme and module spaces. Within the programme spaces, you will be able to see the people within the module and it is clearly indicated here who the Programme Leader is.

You can also find out more about academic staff by searching through our staff profiles HERE.

Contacting your Programme Leader

You will have access to your Programme Leaders email address via Compass so are always welcome to email your Programme Leader at any time, however, it may be best to check with them their preferred contact methods as some may prefer to go via Canvas spaces as well as via TEAMS which are often a lot quicker than traditional email!
