Services for You

Here we have a list of services and resources available to you that will help you over the holiday period.

This also includes a link to our wide range of events that you can do both in your own time and with us and other students over the holiday period.

FIKA

FIKA provides a dedicated series of programmes allowing you to learn from expert psychologists, other students, academics and professional athletes in five minute video, audio and text programmes.

Programmes and audio guides cover topics including managing distractions and uncertainty, maintaining motivation and positivity, staying connected, self-care and healthy habits.

SilverCloud

Silvercloud is an online CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) programme which can be tailored to your specific needs. You can access the programme on your computer, tablet or mobile phone.

Many of our students have found the programme helpful.

Togetherall

Togetherall is an online community which is dedicated to sharing your thoughts and feelings and support each other within the community.

Here you can speak to someone who understands what you’re going through. Its accessible anytime, anywhere.

Student Space

Student Space provides a range of trusted information, services and tools for you to explore, to help with the challenges of student life.

There are three ways that Student Space is here to help:

  1. Access dedicated support services for students, by phone or text
  2. Information and tools to help you through the challenges of coronavirus
  3. Helping you find what support is available at your place of study

Activities

Your wellness is very important to us. We have a whole host of activities available to you that are here to support your wellness which include physically and mentally stimulating activities ran by the University and Sunderland Students' Union.

Online Support

Staff from support services will be available from 11am up until 1pm to provide online support and guidance to students over the Christmas period. 

University support services will not be available on closure days: 24 - 26 December 2020 & 1 January 2021

On-Campus Help

Alongside our comprehensive online support, we will also have a dedicated team of support staff available to help you on-campus. Staff will be at hand between 11am - 4pm in key locations to help guide and signpost you to the appropriate service.

On-campus support is unavailable on closure days: 24 - 26 December 2020 & 1 January 2021

Pharmacies

Pharmacies are part of the NHS family with community pharmacies providing a range of NHS services.

Community pharmacists work with other professionals, such as doctors and nurses, to give you the best possible care as part of the local healthcare team. Before contacitng a GP, it may be best to ask your Pharmacist.
